1. Informational purposes only
The O Canada Score, badge classifications, and all related vehicle data published on OCanadaCars.ca are provided for general informational purposes only. Nothing on this platform constitutes purchasing advice, financial advice, investment advice, or any other form of professional guidance.
Vehicle purchases are significant financial decisions. You are responsible for conducting your own research, verifying information directly with manufacturers and dealers, and seeking independent professional advice where appropriate before making any commitment.
Before you buy: Always verify assembly location, parts content, and any other material information directly with the dealer or manufacturer. Vehicle sourcing data can change mid-model-year, and your window sticker is the authoritative source for the vehicle you are purchasing.
2. Data accuracy and limitations
O Canada Cars sources data from publicly available government and industry databases, including the NHTSA vPIC API, AALA (American Automobile Labeling Act) manufacturer submissions, and Transport Canada vehicle records. We make every reasonable effort to ensure the data is accurate and current.
However, we make no representation or warranty — express or implied — as to the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of any information published on this platform. Specifically:
- Assembly location data may lag current production by 3 to 6 months
- AALA parts content figures combine US and Canadian content into a single number; we cannot fully separate them
- Some vehicles have multiple assembly plants; we show the primary North American source
- Engine and transmission origin data is based on manufacturer submissions and may not reflect all production variants
- Trim-level differences are not always captured in our core database
- Scores are recalculated when new data becomes available, but historical scores may not be updated in real time
If you believe any score or data point is inaccurate, please contact us at hello@ocanadacars.ca. We review all credible correction requests and update records promptly.
3. No manufacturer, dealer, or industry affiliation
O Canada Cars operates independently. No manufacturer, dealership, automotive group, or industry association has any influence over the O Canada Score or badge assignments published on this platform.
Dealers who participate in the O Canada Cars Certified Dealer program pay a subscription fee for directory listing and lead generation services only. Participation does not affect a vehicle's score. The scoring methodology is published in full on the Methodology page and cannot be altered by commercial relationships.
4. Third-party data sources
Scores are calculated from data supplied by third-party sources including the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the US Department of Transportation AALA program, and Transport Canada. These are government and industry databases that O Canada Cars does not control.
O Canada Cars is not responsible for errors, omissions, or changes in data supplied by these external sources. Users wishing to verify information should consult the source databases directly.
5. No liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, O Canada Cars, its founder, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, any information published on this platform. This includes, but is not limited to, any financial loss arising from a vehicle purchase decision informed in whole or in part by scores or data on this site.
By using this platform, you accept that reliance on any information published here is entirely at your own risk.
6. Scores are not guarantees
The O Canada Score is a tool for comparison and awareness. A high score does not guarantee vehicle quality, reliability, safety, resale value, or suitability for your specific needs. A low score does not mean a vehicle is a poor choice for you. These scores measure manufacturing origin and supply chain integration — nothing else.
7. Content may change
Vehicle sourcing, assembly locations, and parts content figures change regularly as manufacturers adjust production. O Canada Cars updates its database as new information becomes available, but cannot guarantee that any specific score reflects current production at the time you view it. Always check the "last verified" date shown on individual vehicle pages.
8. Governing law
This disclaimer and your use of OCanadaCars.ca are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from use of this platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
